Arsenal FC has received a timely double injury boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Atlético Madrid.

Both Eberechi Eze and Kai Havertz had raised concerns after limping off during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United FC last weekend.

However, Eze was seen in training on Tuesday ahead of the trip to Spain, offering encouragement to manager Mikel Arteta.

He was joined by defender Riccardo Calafiori, who has been sidelined since early April, further boosting the squad ahead of the crucial encounter.

In contrast, Jurrien Timber was once again absent from training.

There are still doubts over Havertz’s availability, despite Arteta downplaying the issue at the weekend, describing it as a niggle. The German forward is unlikely to feature in the midweek European fixture.
