Cristiano Ronaldo’s quest for a first title with Al Nassr ended in disappointment as the Saudi side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League Two final.
Al Nassr had entered the final as overwhelming favourites, having recorded a perfect run of 10 wins in 10 matches throughout the competition. Despite rotating their squad amid domestic league commitments, they looked poised to cap off a dominant campaign with silverware.

However, their form deserted them on the big stage. Gamba Osaka produced a disciplined and resolute performance, with goalkeeper Araki playing a crucial role in keeping the Saudi side at bay.
The breakthrough came early in the second half, when Hummet struck what proved to be the winning goal. Al Nassr pushed for an equaliser, with Joao Felix among those coming close, but Gamba Osaka held firm to secure the title and deny Ronaldo his first trophy with the club.
