A woman’s humorous post about cancelling her open house after listing a RM51,715 budget has amused netizens.
A woman posted that she wanted to cancel her “open house” this year.
In a post on Threads, she wrote, “Sorry, I feel like cancelling my open house this year,” before sharing a detailed breakdown of expenses:
Briyani rice (100 pax) – RM1,200
Water or “sky juice” – RM15
Desserts – RM300
Aisha Retno – RM50,000
Apam balik – RM500
Total: RM51,715
She then asked, “Where should I cut the budget? Should I cut the sky juice?”
It is unclear whether she was serious or just joking, but netizens quickly flooded the comments section with witty and light-hearted responses.
Many suggested keeping Aisha Retno at all costs, proposing instead that the event be turned into a potluck.
“Cut everything except Aisha Retno and sky juice. Make the food potluck. Sky juice is important,” one user wrote. Some even offered to bring or sponsor drinks.
Another user joked that she could replace Aisha Retno at a lower price of RM40,000, while someone else claimed to have found a “clone” of the singer to help reduce costs. Others humorously suggested that the sky juice was too expensive and should be cut.
The funniest part came when netizens began offering themselves as replacements for Aisha Retno.
One wrote, “I can be your Aisha Retno, sis, but I would only sing half the songs and I’m not good at dancing. I’m not expensive—just RM10,000.” Another, who shares the same name, joked, “I’m also Aisha. No need RM50,000—RM500 is enough.”
One user had a particularly hilarious idea: “Cut Aisha Retno. Hire me. Let me sing—after one song, your open house will be automatically cancelled. Thank me, later. DM for quotation.”
Another comment read, “I don’t understand why people spend so much money on an open house. If you want to save, just make it potluck style—but keep Aisha Retno. If you have her dates, tell me, I want to come.”
Similar sentiments were shared by others, who insisted on keeping the singer and even asked to be invited.
One commenter suggested cutting desserts and apam balik instead, saying that Aisha Retno herself is already “sweet.”
